How will the Welfare ‘Abolition’ Bill affect us?

Posted on | November 7, 2009 | 3 Comments

1.30pm-5.30pm, Sun 22nd November
Navarino Mansions Community Hall, Dalston Lane (near Hackney Downs), E8 1LB
Free to attend – tea, coffee and snacks free too!
Wheelchair accessible. Childcare available – see below.

  • Single parent?
  • Unemployed?
  • Sick or disabled?
  • In temporary or insecure work?
  • Working for Jobcentre Plus?

If so, the Welfare Reform Bill will target you.

The government want to make us pay for their mistakes. Bankers get billions but they want us to survive on even less.

Hackney Unemployed Workers Group invite you to an event to find out how the changes will affect us, why they’re happening and to plan how we can stop them.

Call or text 07858 860058 or email hackneyunemployedworkers@gmail.com to find out more.

A free creche will be available – please contact us to let us know if you are bringing a child so we can make sure we have enough people to help and fun activities!

Hackney Unemployed Workers Group want justice and respect at the job centre. We want to be treated as people not criminals. We take action to help individuals with their claims; to improve treatment in Hackney job centres; and to stop welfare abolition. We meet every Thursday at 12pm at Cafe Bohemia under the railway arches by Hackney Central station – come and meet us!
